Purpose: This document will walk you through how to setup mail rules for your Outlook inbox.

1. Navigate to your Outlook email settings, indicated by the gear (Image Placeholder) icon.

2. In the settings menu, select Mail < Rules.

3. In the Rules menu, you will want to select “Add new rule” Image Placeholder

You will then see the following window: Image Placeholder

4. Provide a name for the rule you are creating. In this example, the Rule is titled Test Rule.

5. Specify what conditions need to be met for the rule to be triggered (e.g., Marked with Importance - High). You can also include additional conditions that need to be met for the action to be performed.

6. Set the action to be performed when the rule is triggered (e.g., Move To a specified folder). You can include additional actions that will be performed upon trigger. Image Placeholder

7. You may also include exceptions to the rule (e.g., if it is from a certain sender, do not run the rule)

8. Finally, you can determine whether additional rules should or should not be processed. Please note: Outlook Rules are processed in the order they are placed. Checking this box will cause the rules following the Test Rule to be disregarded if the Test Rule conditions are met.
