1. Ensure the Reader has enough power (If you press the button on the reader, it will indicate the battery charge)

2. In your iPad's Bluetooth settings, forget the Square Reader Device if it is listed under "Known Devices". If it is not listed, proceed to step 3.

3. Disable Bluetooth on the iPad. Wait for 30 seconds and enable Bluetooth.

4. Restart the iPad: Power it off, wait for 30 seconds, and then power it back on. 

5. Reset your Square Reader: Hold the button for 20 seconds. The light on the reader will start flashing orange to red and then turn off. 

6. Navigate to the Square App < Menu < Settings < Hardware < Square Reader

7. Select Connect a Reader and follow the instructions listed.
