I. Why AI Call Summary?
The Zoom AI Call Summary feature allows users to capture notes during a Zoom phone call. The AI assistant will structure the notes into 3 sections: Quick Summary for a brief overview of the call notes, Next Steps to list out action items born out of the discussion, and Summary for a detailed walkthrough of the call contents.
II. Best Practices for Using Zoom AI Call Summary
Obtain Consent: Prior to using the AI Call Summary feature, ensure all call participants are informed that the conversation may be recorded and summarized.
Restrict Access: Share call summaries only with individuals who have a legitimate need to know.
Protect Sensitive Information: Review all call summaries before distribution, and redact any sensitive or confidential information as necessary.
III. How to Start a Call Summary
- 1. Log onto the Zoom application - mobile or desktop.
- 2. Once you begin a call, click Summarize
from your dialer to start the AI Summary tool.

- 3. To stop the summary, click Stop summary

IV. How to Access a Call Summary
- 1. Sign in to your mobile/desktop application or the web portal.
- 2. Select the Phone tab (if on Web Portal, find the Phone tab in the left menu).
- 3. Navigate to the History tab and identify the call you wish to view.
- 4. Click the View Summary/View full summary icon next to the call entry.
