This document explains how to export a Canvas quiz as a QTI file. This allows for easy importing of the content into another course. Once imported the quiz questions and content may be edited as normal.

Exporting 


1. Navigate to the quiz you wish to copy questions from.

2.  Select the Settings tab

3. From the left-hand menu select Export Course Content:

Set the export type to Quiz and check the desired quiz underneath:

4. Click the link to download the exported data as a Zip file:

Importing


  1. Enter the course for the quiz you wish to add the questions to.

  2. In the settings tab, select Import Course Content

3. Select QTI .zip file under Content Type

5. Choose File and browse for your recently downloaded zip file.

6. Create a new question bank and Import.
